The rutin chicken is a new breed of hybrid chicks derived from a mating cross between the Spotted-winged Partridge and the Blue-breasted Quail. It is the smallest of the world’s pheasant species, with newborn chicks the size of a coin. The difference in plumage between the male and female is not very pronounced and is only partial. The male has distinctive and dazzling plumage, with a light yellow central crown stripe in the center of the head, while the female has plumage similar to that of a quail.

What kind of chicken is a rutin chicken

  1. The rutin chicken is a special chicken bred from the crossbreeding of Spotted-winged Partridge and Blue-breasted Quail over the years, and because of its small size, it is also called the Mini Chicken. The color of the feathers of the rutin chicken is lovely, and the rutin chicken is currently bred in several colors, such as white, gray, and blue.
  2. The newborn chick is only the size of a coin, and the adult rutin chicken is about the size of an ordinary newborn chick, weighing only about 45 grams and about 14 cm long, making it the smallest chicken species in the world. Male chickens are generally 11-13 cm long and weigh 30-43 g. Female chickens are usually 12-16 cm long and weigh 44-57 g.
  3. The plumage color of male and female rutin chicken differs significantly.

Rutin Chickens Male: distinctive and dazzling body feathers, with a light yellow central crown stripe in the center of the head. The forehead, side of the head, side of the neck, chest, and side of the breast is all blue-gray. A white patch is in front of the eye, extending back to the eye. The upper body is dark yellow-brown or olive-brown with black worm-like and transverse spots and white stripes. A large black triangular area in the center of the throat is surrounded by white. Below the waist is a chestnut purple with a ruddy chestnut tail. The iris is vermilion to dark red.
